Synchronization and Workflow Boot Camp Description

During this TWO-DAY Synchronization and Workflow Boot Camp, attendees will focus on the synchronization process and pharmacy workflow; staff and inventory management; with activities designed to set synchronization goals, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and remodel pharmacy workflow; and finally, understand the Top 20% impact on your pharmacy.

You will receive the training, policies and procedures, forms and templates, and tips and tricks you will need to implement a robust and successful synchronization program in your pharmacy – with a goal to process 50-60% of prescriptions through synchronization - along with establish the best practices in remodeling your pharmacy workflow and improving your pharmacy performance.

Process & Best Practice Training

Classroom style training to review updates to the Medicare Star Rating quality measures, the "Rules" of the synchronization process,  and best practices in synchronization, workflow, automation, inventory management, and staff scheduling.  

In-Pharmacy Observation and Q & A

Observe the synchronization process in a two-workflow system in a pharmacy with 55-60% of its prescription volume controlled through synchronization – includes a Q & A component with technicians & pharmacists!
 

Team Goal Setting Activities

Participate with your team in activities to develop action plans to implement, expand, or clean up your current synchronization processes; identify opportunities to remodel your pharmacy workflow; and focus for higher performance.

Boot Camp Objectives:

  • Review UPDATES on the Medicare Star Ratings quality measures and discuss the GOALS and IMPACTS of an expanded synchronization program on pharmacy performance

  • Define the “RULES” of the paper-and-pencil synchronization model that create success and sustainability

  • Review BEST PRACTICES in synchronization, pharmacy workflow, use of technology, automation, inventory management, and staff scheduling

  • OBSERVE the synchronization process in a two-workflow system in a functioning pharmacy with 55-60% of its prescription volume controlled through synchronization – interact with technician and pharmacist staff, observe workflow practices, automation, and staff roles in each of the synchronization process

  • COMPLETE ACTIVITIES with your team to SET GOALS for synchronization enrollment, synchronize real patients from your own pharmacy, identify opportunities for a more performance driven workflow, develop action plans to implement, expand, or clean up your current synchronization process, and identify the opportunity for higher performance.

Who should attend a Sync Boot Camp?

For those who have attended a previous SyncRx+ Intensive Training, a Sync Boot Camp will serve as a more intimate supplement - UNLIKE ANY OTHER TRAINING, where the pharmacy team can observe the synchronization and workflow principles in process in a live, behind-the-scenes pharmacy setting.  

For those who have not attended a SyncRx+ Intensive Training, or any other training, this course is focused on implementing synchronization and workflow processes to achieve higher performance and greater efficiency. Attendees are also encouraged to attend the more advanced SyncRx+ Intensive training, focused on the SyncRx+ component, medication therapy management, and marketing - but without the pharmacy observation component.

PDS Instructor, Jason Turner strongly recommends bringing your technician and pharmacist to optimize the value of attending, "I believe from experience that pharmacists who attend without their technicians OR technicians who attend without their pharmacists or owners ultimately do not experience the level of success achieved when the entire pharmacist-technician team EVOLVE through the training process together."
